Unzucht

It was around 2009 when De Clercq, Unzucht’s guitarist and electro wizard, came up with a plan. With a subterfuge that is impossible to reconstruct, he lured the half-spanish singer Der Schulz, who was on the verge of moving back to his old home Galicia, to an unspecified island in the frisian Caribbean, which is since then known only as “La Isla Muerta”. This is where, for reasons unknown, Blaschke and Fuhrmann came into play. The island’s chronicle is full of loopholes about the events, but one thing is sure: First demos were recorded, the foundation for Unzucht was built. But why is the band’s webshop, where fans order t-shirts and tickets today, called “Caribbean Gothic”? And what exactly is it about this “gothic boarding school”? Questions, nothing but questions.

„If we’d have to name that proverbial slot, we’d say that it is definitely Post-Punk-Electronica-Kraut-Glam. We take songs from all NO MORE phases as well as new songs, give the lot a turn in the time-shredder and – out comes great rhythmic noise: that is pop.“

Andy Schwarz – vox, guitar, bass, electronica
Tina Sanudakura – keyboards, electronica, treatments

The band is fairly known through their genre-cracking classic hit „Suicide Commando“. A Song that is still an essential part of many DJ-sets nowadays, ranging from dark wave via electronica and EBM to post punk and indie. Tina Sanudakura utilizes Theremin and obscure electronic devices like the „grüner Kreis“ to spy on the dark with shimmering sounds. Andy Schwarz picks up the fluorescent vibrancy and whispers, barks, nags and croons, Minimalistic electronica and scattered guitar melodies define that which is not spoken.

Hurricane Dean

Ian Bleeker  – Vocals
Malte Zierden – Guitar
Yurgen Schulte – Bass
Oliver Szafranek – Drums

The four-piece band from Ostfriesland is stirring things up with bright wave: their own mix of new wave and indie. Songs like their first single “Flat Random Noise” beckon you to the dance floor without loosing their melancholic touch. Ian Bleeker’s soothing voice is conjuring up a comfortable cocoon as he puts you in a trance. And just before you think it’s too epic, the compelling beat hits you again and the guitars push you with their playful pickings: slow, too fast – up and down – like the sea hit by a storm.
